Job Summary

Tantus Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the management, optimization, and security of our large-scale network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Cisco network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Help maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructures to ensure consistent availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Network Engineer to implement network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of F5 BIG-IP services, including Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM).
  • Assist with the management of DNS services using Infoblox appliances, including IP address management and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor network performance using SolarWinds tools such as Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) to identify and address potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot network problems, working to quickly restore services and minimize impact on operations.
  • Provide support in optimizing traffic flow and network performance through data analysis and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Assist in implementing network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs, in coordination with the network security team.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal security standards, such as FISMA and NIST guidelines, through regular monitoring and participation in security assessments.
  • Update and maintain documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in developing documentation to support network management tasks.
  • Contribute to reports on network status, performance, and security, providing data-driven insights to the Senior Network Engineer and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting network environments.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Ability to support the implementation of security measures and monitoring activities.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or working towards it.
  • Familiarity with F5 BIG-IP services and Infoblox appliances is a plus.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds (NPM, NTA) is desirable.
