The Blake at Flowood is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities Operations to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our facilities to ensure a safe and secure living environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management: Plan, organize, and direct the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical building to ensure world-class accommodations.
- Staff Supervision: Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, and monitor the performance of department staff, including housekeepers and an assistant Director of Facilities Operations.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist with emergency preparedness and required safety drills to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff.
- Transportation: Assist with the transportation of residents as needed.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent and two (2) years of supervisory experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping.
- Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of OSHA compliance and laws, ability to explain work duties to staff, and effective interaction with residents, families, employees, visitors, co-workers, and government agencies.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform manual tasks daily, be mobile, and perform physical requirements of the job.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, painting, masonry, grounds keeping, commercial appliance repair, electrical wiring, multi-meter use, standard practices, and a variety of hand and power tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities, and safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and documents, solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
