The Chief Information Officer for US Specialty leads a team accountable for all technology supporting Markel's Specialty division. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring IT is an effective partner in delivering relevant technology and exceptional experiences to underwriting, claims, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the IT vision and roadmap for the division, in alignment with the global divisional business objectives and technology strategy.
- Manage the IT budget and resources for the division, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of IT assets and capabilities.
- Oversee the agile delivery teams, performance of project investments, and operational services for the division, ensuring quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with US Specialty stakeholders to anticipate key marketplace trends, drive continuous improvement, drive business results, and create value-added market offerings.
- Ensure IT security and compliance for the division, partnering with GSS and following the corporate IT policies and standards.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Minimum of 15+ years in a senior management position and IT management experience in insurance, preferably in Property and Casualty.
- Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies and projects.
- Strong knowledge and experience in IT governance, service management, data, cloud, SecOps, and compliance.
