Sanitation and Maintenance Representative

About the Role

H-E-B is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation and Maintenance Representative to join our team. As a key member of our store operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our store, inside and out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency and prioritization
  • Clean and pick up trash and debris from flower beds and yard around the store
  • Use H-E-B chemical program and correctly organize and maintain stock in the maintenance room
  • Wash windows and mirrors throughout the store
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles throughout the shift
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards and SOPs
  • Communicate maintenance needs, problems, or solutions to store leaders
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs using simple hand tools
  • Maintain ceiling air vents and replace light bulbs
  • Work with and around customers, attending to their needs and assisting with product location

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
  • Completion of Company Orientation, Basics of Safety training, and In-store orientation
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines
  • Customer service skills
  • Sacking skills
  • Ability to take initiative and do what needs to be done
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks

Working Conditions

  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Constantly walk, reach at waist, grasp
  • Frequently push/pull with arms
  • Occasionally stand, reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb stairs, climb ladders, pivot, twist, pinch, perform fine motor movements
  • Occasionally be exposed to cold, ambient temperatures, loud noise, and wet conditions
  • Demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs and manage in excess of 50 lbs
