Job Description

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a licensed Dentist to provide dental care services for DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq.

The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of dental conditions, educate patients about oral hygiene and preventive care, and ensure effective delivery of care while meeting compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat dental conditions, diseases, and injuries.
  • Perform dental procedures.
  • Provide emergency dental care services.
  • Develop and discuss treatment plans with patients.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive dental care.
  • Keep accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Collaborate with dental hygienists and administrative staff.
  • Stay current with new dental techniques and advancements.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in community outreach and promotional activities.

Qualifications:

  • Pass the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE).
  • Hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
  • 3-5 years of general dentistry experience, including 6 months within the last year.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Experience working on a military site as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Education:

  • Hold a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

Physical Requirements:

  • Meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
