About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Social Worker/Clinical Counselor to join our dynamic team at Maya Angelou Academy. As a key member of the Clinical Services Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of opportunity and justice-involved youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing their unique needs and challenges
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student strengths and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with school personnel to develop and implement personalized support plans
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records
  • Participate in school-based meetings and training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Recruit and supervise mental health interns to support the Clinical Services Department
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work or mental health counseling
  • Current licensure is mandatory
  • OSSE certification is required
  • Experience working in juvenile detention facilities or community-based mental health settings is preferred

  • Commitment to strength-based and youth development approaches
