Position Overview

The Director of Employee Labor Relations plays a crucial role in shaping and overseeing a comprehensive labor relations strategy within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and manages a robust employee and labor relations framework.
  • Ensures adherence to contractual obligations, hospital policies, and compliance with relevant labor regulations.
  • Provides expert guidance on the interpretation of labor agreements and organizational policies.
  • Advises management on labor relations matters, offering strategic recommendations to enhance workplace harmony.

Daily Functions

  • Acts as a key advisor to management during collective bargaining and grievance resolution processes.
  • Supervises the Employee/Labor Relations and Workforce Compliance teams to ensure effective operations.
  • Oversees training programs for supervisors regarding labor contract compliance and employee management.
  • Engages with senior leadership to address labor-related challenges and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Serves as the primary negotiator for labor contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors and analyzes employee relations metrics to inform management decisions and strategies.
  • Maintains strong relationships with labor leaders to facilitate communication and resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree or Juris Doctorate is highly preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in labor relations, with a focus on management roles.
