Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified Plumbing Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and teaching Plumbing Technology courses, conducting labs, and supervising students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and teaching, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
Key Responsibilities- Teach assigned theory and lab classes, planning daily activities for students and supervising them for both theory and technical project grades.
- Instruct and evaluate students in plumbing technology courses, including instruction in shop safety.
- Maintain a safe worksite and enforce Ranken's safety standards.
- Assist in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
- Assist management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties.
- Participate in college governance, committee work, student advising, and other activities.
- Participate in available training to stay current in plumbing technology.
- Assist in maintaining requirements of industry standards.
- AS or BS degree in plumbing or a related engineering field.
- Three years or more of residential or commercial plumbing or construction experience, including knowledge of backflow testing procedures.
- Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Computer literate in MS Office.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
