Job Summary:

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to fill a long-term substitute position in the Pittsburgh area. As a substitute SLP, you will work with middle and high school students, providing individual and group therapy sessions, assessing students, and developing individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Therapy: Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs, and provide individual and/or group therapy sessions for students with identified speech and language disorders.
  • Case Management: Develop individualized education plans and present them to parents, school administrators, and others involved with student evaluations.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for all students on the caseload.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide reports of a student's progress to parents.
  • Caseload Management: Organize student caseload and develop a schedule for each assigned school.
  • Resource Development: Develop resource materials for use in speech and language development.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Pennsylvania SLP license
  • Credentialing: Department of Education credential (Education Specialist - Speech-Language Pathologist)

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Organizational Skills: Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Special Education Procedures: Up-to-date knowledge of Pennsylvania Special Education procedures and best practices for SLPs in school settings.
  • Professionalism and Accountability: Professionalism and accountability, with a commitment to providing high-quality services to students and families.
