Job Summary

Soliant is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to fill a long-term substitute position in a school district located outside of Pittsburgh, PA. As a substitute SLP, you will work with students from grades 6-12, providing individual and group therapy sessions, assessing students, and developing individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Therapy
    • Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs.
    • Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions for students with identified speech and language disorders.
  • Case Management
    • Develop individualized education plans and present them to parents, school administrators, and others involved with student evaluations.
    • Maintain accurate records for all students on the caseload.
    • Provide reports of a student's progress to parents.
  • Consultation and Collaboration
    • Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns.
    • Organize student caseload and develop a schedule for each assigned school.
  • Professional Development
    • Develop resource materials for use in speech and language development.

Requirements

  • Pennsylvania SLP license
  • Department of Education credential (Education Specialist - Speech-Language Pathologist)

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid organization skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Pennsylvania Special Education procedures and best practices for SLPs in school settings
