Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing infrastructure projects that meet the needs of our growing community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop infrastructure projects, including water and sewer systems, roads, and bridges.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in a government or public works setting.

Skills
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

License/Certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Software
  • Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed in an office setting, with occasional site visits required.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
