Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Decarbonization Fellow at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative clean energy solutions.

Job Summary

The Building Decarbonization Fellow will support our efforts to decarbonize buildings in accordance with the Commonwealth's Clean Energy and Climate Plan. This role will focus on fostering the decarbonization of energy use in buildings through our building decarbonization efforts, including piloting building decarbonization solutions, providing grants, rebates, and technical assistance to help Massachusetts homeowners and businesses install clean heating and cooling systems, electrify building end uses, and improve thermal performance of buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team to review clean rebate application documents, payments/invoicing, responses from consultants to requests for proposals, and contract management;
  • Provide timely responses to inquiries from homeowners, system installers, and others interested in our programs;
  • Analyze project data, identify industry trends, develop data visualizations (i.e., graphs, charts, tables), and draft memos and presentations to summarize findings;
  • Assist program staff in researching, analyzing, and developing building decarbonization program strategies;
  • Support outreach and education efforts such as marketing materials, events, and conferences.
Requirements

This is an entry-level position, and we encourage interested applicants to apply despite lack of background or experience in the field. The ideal candidate will be a college undergraduate (sophomore or higher) or graduate student, preferably pursuing a degree in science, environmental studies, business administration, or public policy. Recent graduates or candidates that are early in their career will also be considered.

What We Offer

As a Building Decarbonization Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on a dynamic team, develop your skills and knowledge in the clean energy sector, and contribute to the growth of the Massachusetts clean energy economy. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20 and the possibility of extending the fellowship on a part-time or full-time basis if there is mutual interest.
