Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at UPMC. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures at a technical level, utilizing complex equipment to acquire, analyze, and document image data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients properly using two identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures.
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal results.
  • Administer contrast media and ensure exams are properly coded and tracked.
  • Perform diagnostic radiography procedures without constant supervision, utilizing established protocols and procedures.
  • Interact with patients and coworkers, demonstrating a high level of caring, listening, and respect.
  • Communicate instructions to patients clearly and explain procedures to alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from an ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist, with registry obtained within 12 months of hire date.
  • CPR or BLS certification required.
  • Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances required.
