Job Summary

The Medicaid Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the timely completion of Medicaid applications for patients of our hospital clients. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with patients and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen patients for Medicaid eligibility and enroll them in health insurance coverage via the Marketplace or paper application package.
  • Process confidential information, including patient contact details and medical records.
  • Research and verify patient information using search engines and hospital databases.
  • Resolve Medicaid-related issues and communicate with patients and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Send automated letters to patients and retrieve information from hospital databases.
  • Update the Firm's internal database with work completed on each account and track application status.
  • Prepare and review reports on open accounts using Microsoft Excel.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with patients and manage calendars.
  • Respond to requests for additional documents from the Marketplace or Department of Social Services.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Experience with ePACES and LexisNexis a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare or insurance plans a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
