About the Role

Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a Transportation Project Specialist (Level 1) to join the Logistics Team. This entry-level role is part of a team responsible for coordinating the movement, distribution, and storage of materials and finished goods to ensure timely and safe delivery to customer job sites.

The Transportation Project Specialist (Level 1) will create and execute transportation plans that enable timely and cost-effective shipment of raw materials and finished goods both domestically and internationally. This involves close coordination with internal customers (Procurement, Projects, Engineering & Sales) and negotiation of favorable shipping/handling terms with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee carriers and vendors providing various modes of transport, packing, and handling
  • Communicate performance expectations and metrics to evaluate and monitor supplier performance
  • Establish relationships for effective transportation strategies
  • Proactively support internal customers and suppliers in the execution of project objectives
  • Evaluate transportation providers for inclusion in N/Es supply base and for future work opportunities
  • Issue requisitions for transportation services and coordinate internally to ensure on-time placement or transportation purchase orders
  • Communicate and oversee documentation and shipping specification requirements with customers and suppliers
  • Proactively identify opportunities and work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of department policies, procedures, and supporting systems
  • Maintain expanded level of knowledge for Customs Importation/Exportation and Trade Compliance Policy
Requirements
  • BS/BA in Business, Logistics, or Supply-Chain Management, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Project Management preferred; international experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, LTL, full-truckload shipments, and customs documentation a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player; proficiency in English
