Overview:

This role is designed to warmly welcome visitors, deliver exceptional customer service, and facilitate the sale of admission tickets and memberships. Additionally, the position involves providing retail assistance in the museum's gift shop under the guidance of the Museum Store Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with POS (point of sale) systems and a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests to the museum, process admission ticket sales, and provide information about exhibits.
  • Promote specialty tours and museum memberships.
  • Assist customers in the gift shop, fostering connections through engaging conversations and genuine recommendations.
  • Process sales transactions in the museum store.
  • Help create attractive merchandise displays and maintain a clean and organized sales area.
  • Support inventory management and stock room organization as needed.

Position Duties:

  • Efficiently operate the POS system and handle cash transactions.
  • Accurately input membership information into the designated software.
  • Manage incoming phone inquiries.

Communication and Accountability:

This position is accountable to the Museum Store Manager.

Physical Requirements:

The role necessitates the ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasional ladder climbing may be required.
