Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering nursing care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or healthcare provider. This position involves caring for patients across all stages of life, utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the mission and vision of Piedmont Macon Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
The LPN is responsible for:
- Providing compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Guiding and supporting ancillary staff in their roles.
- Demonstrating accountability and professional growth within the nursing practice.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Required:
Completion of an accredited LPN program.
Minimum Experience Required:
New graduates from an accredited nursing program are welcome to apply.
Licensure/Certification:
Current LPN license in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNLC Multistate License is required. BLS certification is also mandatory.
Additional Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have demonstrated clinical competence in the specialty area they are applying for. Experience in a hospital setting is advantageous. For those working in the Emergency Department, ALS/ACLS and PALS certifications are required. LPNs new to the specialty must complete relevant certifications within six months of their start date, while experienced Emergency Department nurses have six months to obtain PALS certification.
