Short Description:
The role involves the precise validation of medication lists prior to admission and gathering medication and allergy histories from patients.
As needed, the technician will reach out to outpatient facilities for additional medication details.
Effective communication of this information to the healthcare team is essential.
All relevant information must be documented and corrected in the patient medication list within the EPIC system.
Experience Required:
A minimum of 4 years of experience as a hospital pharmacy technician is required.
Current registration in NJ (or eligibility upon hire) is necessary.
Proficiency in basic pharmaceutical calculations is expected.
Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
License/Certification Requirements:
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in NJ (NJ PHARTEC) is required.
