Job Summary:
This position supports the Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Health team at Advocate Health. As a Pediatric Outpatient Clinical Therapist, you will provide therapy services to children and adolescents and their families in a free-standing behavioral health clinic. You will work closely with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team and other therapists to provide patient care and collaborate with Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Pediatric Neuropsychology, Inpatient Behavioral Health, and the crisis team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Service: Provide pediatric individual and family therapy services using a solution-focused, brief therapy framework.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide supervision to trainees on approaches to patient needs and suggest alternative approaches for resolution of problems.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain concise and comprehensive case records following established agency policies and procedures.
- Agency and Training Activities: Participate in agency activities and the community to make a positive contribution to agency operations.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Social Worker, Clinical, or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
- Education/Experience: MA/MS Psych or Counseling, MSW, and 2 years of experience in a mental health or related setting.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Clinically appropriate skills, courteous and professional demeanor, keyboard skills, and familiarity with a Windows environment.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints and in difficult situations.
- May be exposed to patients who potentially could be violent.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
