Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Principal, the Kindergarten Teacher will be responsible for leading the educational instruction and development of students within their classroom. This role requires collaboration with students, families, and school leadership to promote both academic success and character growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a nurturing and structured learning atmosphere that encourages all students to engage in their educational journey.
  • Design and execute daily lesson plans aligned with the school’s long-term educational objectives.
  • Develop an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of each child.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies and appropriate corrective measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including attendance, behavior, academic performance, and communication with parents.
  • Set clear, measurable goals for student achievement and regularly assess progress.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during school activities.
  • Evaluate student academic performance through a variety of assessment methods.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to support their learning and development.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings and professional growth opportunities.
  • Support extracurricular activities and educational initiatives outside of regular hours.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts for prospective students as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Missouri Teaching Certification is necessary (Early Childhood Education B-3 preferred).

Preferred Skills

  • 1-3 years of teaching experience, particularly in urban educational settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with educational technology.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering student achievement.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to professional growth.

Compensation

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, certifications, and educational background.

Schedule
