Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will be accountable for the comprehensive nursing care of your assigned patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Caring for cardiac and peripheral procedural patients, post-sheath removal, recognizing groin complications, EKG interpretation, and reporting abnormal lab values to the physician.
- Providing care for adult patients aged 18 to 64 and geriatric patients aged 65 and older.
- Serving as the subject matter expert for all invasive procedures, ensuring patients are prepared according to established protocols.
- Managing the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exams, providing general nursing care, and coordinating testing and admissions.
- Delivering therapeutic services essential for patient care.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, including posting test and examination results.
Qualifications Required
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice and/or possess an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- A current AHA or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is preferred and must be obtained within six months of hire/transfer date.
- 1-2 years of previous nursing experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in emergency, pre-hospital, or critical care settings is preferred.
