- Professional Experience: With one to two years of experience, you possess a solid understanding of electrical standards and design principles for lighting, power, and fire alarm systems. You are knowledgeable about electrical circuiting and the interrelation of telecommunications, mechanical, and architectural elements with electrical systems. Familiarity with industry standards and the construction process is essential, along with the ability to effectively collaborate with contractor teams.
- Interpersonal Skills: While independent work is crucial, your ability to engage and collaborate with team members at all levels is vital. Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills will be key to your success.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit is necessary; experience with electrical-specific calculation software is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application of Engineering Skills: You will be responsible for preparing electrical load calculations, voltage drop assessments, and creating electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm schematics under supervision. Additionally, you will assist in the review of electrical shop drawings and provide input on estimated costs for electrical equipment and systems.
- Compliance Assurance: Attention to detail is critical. You will apply client standards, guidelines, and industry specifications in the preparation of design documents.
- Field Engagement: Conducting surveys and field assessments of electrical systems and equipment will be part of your role.
- Client Interaction: Regular communication and coordination with internal teams and clients will be essential for fostering strong relationships. You will also engage with vendors to assess and select equipment, with guidance from your supervisor as needed.
