About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at M G O. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives and evaluating alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on tax implications of business objectives and evaluate alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance.
  • Act as primary client contact for complex tax issues and apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues.
  • Recognize and communicate potential risks and changes in tax policy.
  • Supervise and train staff to prepare returns and develop expertise in responding to tax authority notices and client representation.
  • Oversee and supervise multiple engagements in progress simultaneously and manage client accounts including billing, fee analysis, and new service development.
  • Provide effective feedback to mentors and supervisory, senior, and staff accountants and ability to research complex tax matters and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Meet challenging client requirements and provide exceptional service and consistently display excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and assist in growing existing client services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; Master of Tax preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or related experience.
  • Licensed CPA required or J.D., LL.M, or EA required.
  • Extensive experience with pass-through entities strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in S-Corp, Partnership, High Net Worth individual, C-Corp, and Trust taxation desired.
  • Previous experience supervising and training staff and seniors preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements.
  • Must begin to attain visibility and recognition within their industry specialization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
