HBK CPAs & Consultants is a dynamic and growing accounting firm that offers a wide range of financial services to individuals and businesses. As a Tax Associate, you will be part of a team that provides expert advice and guidance to clients in all aspects of taxation.
Responsibilities- Prepare financial statements and reports for clients.
- Reconcile bank accounts and identify discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation and mailing of confirmation requests.
- Schedule confirmations and follow up on their disposition.
- Perform inventory observations and assist with engagement planning.
- Prepare interim accounting services for small companies and prepare substantiating work papers.
- Excerpt leases, minutes, and other documents and prepare transmittal of journal entries to clients.
- Prepare work papers that are organized, neat, and cross-referenced.
- Search for unrecorded liabilities and update and calculate depreciation and amortization.
- Prepare payroll tax, sales, and other local tax returns.
- Compile raw data into trial balance format and prepare tax returns using HBK software.
- Identify potential management letter comments and practice effective communication.
- Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the state society.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm business.
- Keep up to date on all professional pronouncements.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Maintain professional conduct at client offices and internally.
- Take the CPA exam at every offering and pass it within two years of hire.
