We are seeking a skilled Nurse Educator to join our team at Three Pillars Senior Living Communities in Dousman, WI.
Job SummaryThe Nurse Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing education programs for nursing staff, evaluating in-service training, and maintaining clinical orientation training programs.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate in-service training and development programs to maintain and enhance nursing employees' clinical skills and leadership skills.
- Develop and maintain clinical orientation training programs for new staff, including orientation to facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develop education for new initiatives, areas identified in plans of correction, changes in policies or regulatory requirements, and other programs as needed.
- Coordinate site approval and clinical rotation for nursing and nursing assistant students.
- Assist in developing nursing policies and procedures that reflect current clinical practice, professional standards, and facility philosophy of care.
- Establish criteria to assure that services provided meet established standards of quality.
- Plan, conduct, or arrange for yearly 12-hour certified nursing assistant in-service and all nursing staff in-service on federal and state regulations and facility needs.
- Maintain certification as a nurse aide training program primary instructor.
- Conduct certified nursing assistant classes four times per year and as needed.
- Maintain department budget.
- Develop and maintain process for implementation and tracking of campus-wide nursing annual mandatory education.
- Develop and maintain process to make continuing education programs available to all campus nursing staff.
- Develop and deploy training assessment tool to identify training needs for nursing campus staff, including nurse leadership team.
- Develop annual nursing training calendar for campus.
- Implement and train workplace safety programs in the facility.
- Maintain files of lesson plans and attendance for all programs taught to employees and ensure training records are retained per company policy.
- Develop and maintain status as an AHA Training Site for CPR and First Aid.
- Coordinate and train CBRF classes.
- Assess, plan, develop, and coordinate resident, family, and community education on current health and disease management topics.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
- Must possess a current WI RN license and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Maintain certification as a CBRF Certification trainer.
- Maintain certification/qualifications to be a C.N.A. instructor.
- 5+ years' experience working with the senior population and knowledge of regulatory compliance and continuing care retirement community operations; prior staff development or program development experience preferred.
- Able to conduct training and education on all shifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and require minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and licensing regulations.
