Overview: The Parts Operations Supervisor at Genequip will oversee the effective and profitable management of the parts division. This role involves providing insights and recommendations that align with the best interests of the parts department in all company activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all personnel within the parts department, ensuring efficient operations across various functions, including customer order processing, sales, merchandising, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Lead and mentor the team to achieve sales targets, streamline processes, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Participate actively in sales and service meetings, collaborating with Sales and Service Managers to accurately forecast parts requirements for customer machinery.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers to assess and improve the quality of parts service provided.
  • Monitor departmental expenses to enhance profitability.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and meetings to communicate company goals, develop skills, and foster employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with HR in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff.
  • Evaluate team performance against job descriptions and conduct annual reviews of compensation and bonuses.
  • Uphold team morale and discipline in accordance with company policies, including managing terminations when necessary.
  • Work with Marketing to create and promote parts specials and featured products.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and customer-friendly environment in the parts department.
  • Stay informed on best practices in parts management by attending relevant conferences and seminars.
  • Balance the operational needs of the business with the interests of customers.
  • Handle administrative tasks and additional projects as assigned by management.
  • Engage in cross-functional duties with other departments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in a related field or a four-year college degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in heavy construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficient in inventory management.
  • Comfortable using software such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as purchase order systems.
  • Knowledgeable in business financial metrics to maintain an efficient parts department.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional customer service skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Able to achieve objectives through effective management and planning.
  • Personable, motivated, ethical, and adaptable to various situations involving customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as well as occasional lifting, walking, bending, and stretching. Candidates should be able to push, lift, pull, and carry 50 lbs. or more.
