Job Overview

The Facility Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in supporting the Facility Maintenance Team throughout the project lifecycle. Under the guidance of the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring that maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include receiving, executing, and completing maintenance, repair, installation, and assembly work orders within designated timeframes. The mechanic will diagnose issues impacting the proper functioning of equipment, machinery, tools, and facility systems. This role involves disassembling, adjusting, repairing, or replacing components and subsequently reassembling equipment and systems. Regular inspections of equipment and facilities will be conducted in accordance with operational manuals and standard maintenance protocols. Participation in preventative maintenance initiatives is also expected.

Leadership
  • Serve as a representative of Bearing culture.

  • Oversee crew and assist subcontractors in performing plant maintenance.
Communication
  • Demonstrate knowledge of contract documents, including drawings and operational manuals.
  • Engage in jobsite safety responsibilities, including safety meetings and inspections.
  • Foster effective relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that align with company values and project expectations.
Management
  • Oversee maintenance and coordination of process equipment, ensuring compliance with operational requirements and readiness for turnover to project ownership.
Scheduling
  • Organize and prioritize work schedules utilizing PM system reports and work orders from the Maintenance Supervisor.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in an active outdoor construction environment.
  • Capability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs, and work in confined spaces near loud equipment.
  • Ability to navigate irregular and steep terrain.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and be exposed to dirt or dust.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment while on duty.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
