Job Summary

A skilled Boiler Operator is needed to manage the daily operations and infrastructure within the boiler room at a commercial/industrial facility in New Ulm, MN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular rounds of the boilers, chillers, and water treatment plant to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Manage the operation of boiler systems, ensuring boilers are in the appropriate state (operating, standby, etc.).
  • Perform water testing, chemical control, and necessary actions for utility systems.
  • Monitor alarm and weather systems and take necessary action according to documented procedures.
  • Perform emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintain records.
  • Estimate materials and time needed for repairs; order supplies as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and escalate as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience or trade school training.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Strongly prefer candidates with boiler certifications.
  • Universal CFC certification preferred.
  • Additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing, or carpentry are highly desirable.
Preferred Background:
  • Experience in commercial and industrial settings, with a solid understanding of chiller systems and their operations.
