Corporate Finance Director

The Corporate Controller will oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and leading the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with experience in managing a team and collaborating effectively with cross-functional departments. They will be able to analyze financial data, identify trends and variances, and provide insights and recommendations to the CFO and executive team.
The Corporate Controller will also be instrumental in driving process improvements and leveraging the company's ERP system to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Financial Reporting.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP and provide insights and recommendations to the CFO and executive team.
- Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with the CFO and department heads.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate and lead the annual external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop and oversee program financial audit, and Federal/ State regulatory compliance requirements.
- Optimize and manage the use of the Costpoint ERP system to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting capabilities.
- Support strategic initiatives and business growth by providing financial analysis, due diligence, and integration support for mergers and acquisitions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting management experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Experience in the Government Contracting industry or a similar sector is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in financial reporting and audit processes. Experience with fund accounting and not-for-profit accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency with Costpoint ERP system is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
