Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including painting and repairs
  • Complete facilities work and room set-ups initiated by faculty, staff, and students
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and facilities
  • Assist with small-scale carpentry projects and repairs of doors, hardware, and basic locksmith tasks
  • Complete light electrical and plumbing repairs
  • Repair and replace glass, tile, screens, locks, and drapes
  • Assist with snow and ice removal and small office moves
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency situations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and associated systems employing computer-based monitoring and control devices
  • Basic carpentry skills and working knowledge of building materials, size, and nomenclature
  • Ability to work with hand tools and basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with peers and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to communicate and read English, follow verbal and written instruction
  • Ability to occasionally work off-hours and weekends
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to crawl under desks
  • Must be able to be constantly exposed to weather conditions
  • Must spend considerable time on feet
  • Must be available in the event of an emergency
