Position Overview

The Superintendent oversees all on-site operations, ensuring effective coordination of subcontractor activities. This role entails managing all field operations related to the project, including the implementation of the Safety/Zero Harm program at the job site, and supervising both subcontracted and self-performed construction work. The Superintendent collaborates with the project manager to develop the project budget, engages actively in the preconstruction phase, and guarantees that the project is executed on schedule, within financial constraints, and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Additionally, this position involves mentoring assistant superintendents and other field staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project financials
  • Provide preconstruction services
  • Oversee project scheduling (preferably with P6 experience)
  • Plan site logistics
  • Handle project administration, operations, and close-out
  • Enhance customer relations
  • Foster a culture of leadership and employee development

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in commercial construction
  • At least five years of supervisory experience in managing staff and subcontractors
  • Proficient in using personal computers and communication tools, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications
  • Experience with scheduling software applications (preferably P6)
  • Capability to plan and maintain site logistics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in commercial construction as a general contractor
  • Previous experience in a Superintendent role is highly desirable
