Purpose:

As a key member of the Givaudan Sense Colour team, the Plant Engineer will lead continuous improvement efforts to drive significant savings each year. This role will focus on optimizing energy utilization, production yield, and waste reduction, while ensuring reliability-centered maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.

This position will serve as a backup to the Plant Manager, supporting daily operations, including weekend and evening shifts as needed. The Plant Engineer will work closely with the Maintenance Department to prioritize maintenance work orders, complete PMs on time, and stay within budget.

The successful candidate will ensure effective communication of necessary information to associates and the Support Center.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold Givaudan Sense Colour's Mission Statement, Quality Policy, and Values.
  • Ensure all work is done safely, on time, with high-quality results, effective cost management, and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement Program for cost savings, energy utilization, and maintenance.
  • Manage the Capital Expenditure process for the plant, including annual budgeting and quarterly requests.
  • Develop and update the site's 5-year master plan with input from quality, manufacturing, sales, and HR functions.
  • Manage new equipment installations using Capital Expenditure procedures.
  • Ensure corrective actions address root causes and are completed in a timely and customer-responsive manner.
  • Maintain and improve facilities as required, including good housekeeping, general appearance, landscaping, and routine maintenance.
  • Manage statutory inspections, liaise with insurance companies, and perform other related duties.
  • Support environmental compliance with the Plant Manager.
  • Work with the Plant Manager to ensure GMP, Security systems, BRC, PSM, ISO, FPA, and Preventive Maintenance standards are consistently met.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ChE or ME preferred) and 3-5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively while utilizing discretion and good judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; demonstrated team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with pressured deadlines.
  • Food Experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

This role requires on-call availability as per plant schedule requirements. Daily hours may fluctuate based on production needs.

Minimal travel is required.
