Job Summary

Starwest Botanicals, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commodity Buyer to join our team in Sacramento, California. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's global agriculture purchasing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure high-quality agricultural commodities from global suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commodity purchasing or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MRP and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Working Conditions

  • Work from our office in Sacramento, California.
  • May require occasional travel to supplier locations.
