Job Summary:
The successful candidate will set up, operate, and adjust various types of conventional or automatic machines, including CNC machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other precision equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Machining Operations: Works from drawings and written instructions to create parts, performs diversified and complex operations on one or more machines simultaneously as required.
- CNC Programming: Writes and edits programs as needed to meet overall part tolerance requirements, requires basic knowledge of various metal and measurements used in machining processes.
- Machine Operation: Understands all aspects of operating machines and can proficiently run multiple machines simultaneously in the department.
- Setup and Inspection: Sets up jobs, runs jobs, and inspects parts, capable of performing all external setup tasks for the next job while the machine is running.
- Troubleshooting: Inspects work pieces at beginning of and throughout production run to ensure part meets tolerance requirements, detects worn tools and replaces tooling as appropriate.
- Preventative Maintenance: Performs preventative maintenance as needed on assigned equipment, advises supervisor of conduct that may violate rules, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of CNC machining and programming operations acquired in one to three years of trades training or vocational schooling.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent education or experience, associates degree preferred.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
