Job Summary

The Clinical Secretary provides administrative support to the Clinical Services Department at Telecare Corporation. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing meeting minutes, and ensuring timely communication with staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate records of member admissions, discharges, and legal status
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes to clinical staff and committees
  • Transcribe information using transcription equipment
  • Verify legal status on new admissions
  • Assist with personnel-related matters, including maintaining staff personnel files
  • Notify staff of court dates and hearing results
  • Maintain a system for tracking members' progress through the involuntary detention process

Requirements

  • Two years of secretarial experience in a health setting
  • High School graduation or equivalent
  • CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certification
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience
  • Associates Degree in a business or related specialty

Skills

  • Typing at 50 words per minute
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include sitting, standing, walking, and lifting items weighing 25 pounds or less. Visual requirements include computer and book exposure.
