Position Overview

The Audiovisual Event Specialist is tasked with the installation and management of audiovisual systems for events of varying scales, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction throughout.

This role reports to a Project Manager, Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management: Guarantees a seamless event experience through precise and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of sophisticated audiovisual equipment as outlined in the technical specifications.

Quickly identifies and resolves technical challenges as they arise.
Adheres to all company security and safety protocols.
Ensures the protection of equipment from theft and damage during use.

Client Relations: Delivers outstanding service and aims to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.
Maintains strong communication and positive relationships with all clients.
Collaborates with the internal team to devise event solutions before and during the event to maximize customer satisfaction.
Understands and nurtures the relationship with the hotel/client.

Training and Development: Cultivates an environment that encourages the growth of technical and leadership skills among team members.
Provides guidance and coaching to technical, sales, and operations staff to enhance their technical capabilities as required.

Event Oversight: Engages in advanced tasks (pre/during/post event) alongside operations team members.
Supervises and directs fellow technicians throughout the event.

Equipment Care: Assists the team with the proper security, storage, transportation, and upkeep of equipment.
Conducts inventory assessments and forecasts equipment requirements.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Encore Technical Level 3 Certification is mandatory. New team members must achieve certification within 30 days of joining.
  • Encore Technical Level Two Core Certifications are required (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video, Scenic). New team members must be certified by a qualified proctor within 60 days.
Minimum of 4 years of field experience in the specialty area is required.
3-5 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
Ability to engage professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, clientele, and senior management.
Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills with clients, customers, and colleagues.
A valid driver's license is required for team members in roles that may involve operating company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may apply if necessary.

The role is performed in a hotel/convention center setting with moderate exposure to outdoor conditions and dust.
Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy environments.

Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components and may work at heights using lifts and ladders.

Flexibility to work across multiple hotel locations is required. Work hours may include irregular schedules and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Team members must comply with appearance standards as established by Encore, applicable to individual hotels or a representation of hotels in the area.

Warehouse
Work is conducted at event venues and in a warehouse environment.

Team members must adhere to appearance standards as defined by Encore in both warehouse settings and while traveling, applicable to individual venues or a representation of venues in the area.

In the warehouse, work will occur in conditions with exposure to outdoor temperatures and dust. Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy environments. Team members may utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components. Work hours may include irregular schedules and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
