Job Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist Intern to join our Real Estate and Remediation team at Stantec. This role will work closely with the project team coordinator to assist with environmental due diligence and remediation projects, focusing on preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site health and safety planning and ensure work is completed safely.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze data, comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Compile, evaluate, and present subsurface investigation data.
  • Prepare work plans, Phase I Environmental Site Assessment reports, and other technical documents.
  • Manage project tasks, cost, schedule, and quality of work.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with clients and project team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet strict project deadlines.
  • Ability to travel regionally and locally as required for proposal and project needs.
Education and Experience

Working towards a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related scientific field, with at least three years of college/university coursework completed.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

This position will primarily work in the office, with some field work and site visits required. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather. Extended hours and schedules may be necessary to fit project demands.
