Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering relevant health information.
- Perform laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures, including pelvic exams and allergy testing.
- Administer medications, as ordered, and follow through with necessary procedures and test requests.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, unless waived by department leader.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an accredited program in Practical Nursing or Medical Assistant.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including electronic medical records systems.
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the workday. You will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological hazards, and will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
