Medical Assistant or LPN Clinic Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant or LPN Clinic professional to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Medical Assistant or LPN Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for clinical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Perform laboratory procedures, assist with procedures, and administer routine medications under the supervision of a Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician.
- Follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services.
- Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure seamless clinic flow and adjust as necessary.
- Perform basic and advanced clinical tasks or skills based on specialty skills and competencies, such as removal of sutures and staples, audiograms, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, and prescription refills using approved protocols.
- Medical Assistant (CMA) certification issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification issued by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or Medical Assistant (RMA) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification issued by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or AMCA - American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
- Requires 2 years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems
- Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills. Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
