Job Summary

Geisinger Health System offers a rewarding opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in an outpatient clinic setting. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care to patients in preparation for anesthesia procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary clinical support to providers, patients, and their families to ensure a smooth preparation process for anesthesia procedures.
  • Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure accuracy and filing in medical records.
  • Promote a clean environment and meet the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges.
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for providers.
  • Conduct patient evaluations through chart reviews and phone calls to prepare patients for anesthesia procedures.
  • Support patient care by obtaining, scanning, and reviewing documents related to patient preparation.
  • Collaborate with anesthesia colleagues as needed.
  • Support the work of the clinic, continuity of care, and preparation of the whole patient by forming partnerships with surgical clinics, institutions, primary care clinics, and surgical scheduling.
  • Provide direct clinical care as directed by providers.
  • Assist providers in the performance of ancillary examinations as directed.
  • Execute and document ongoing patient communication, as directed by providers, and prioritize communication to ensure efficient use of provider time.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in Nursing.
  • Hold a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
