Job Summary

Geisinger Health System offers a rewarding opportunity for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our outpatient clinic team. As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing top-notch care to patients with hematology and oncology needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary clinical support to providers, patients, and their families to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in medical records.
  • Promote a clean environment and meet qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges.
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for providers.
  • Assist providers in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
  • Execute and document ongoing patient communication, prioritize communication to providers, and respond to patient questions and requests.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Hold a Basic Life Support Certification and a Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
