Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Quaker Street, NY. As a key member of our Surgery Administration department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Job SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner is a highly skilled healthcare professional responsible for assessing and managing patients with specialized health needs. You will work collaboratively with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver family-centered care and develop and implement effective plans of treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and collection of clinical data.
- Order and interpret medical laboratory test results, diagnose medical conditions, and administer medications or treatments as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
- Successful completion of ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting. You must be able to maintain a professional image and earn the confidence of others, while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
