Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem MRI Technologist to join our Radiology team at Children's Hospital Boston. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine MRI procedures, reviewing requisitions, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed.
  • Identify patients according to hospital policy, using two identifiers to ensure accuracy.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional status, developing a care plan to meet their specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and magnetic field environment.
  • Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations and practice High Reliability Training.
  • Provide exceptional care and service, responding to the uniqueness of each patient and creating a supportive environment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, participating in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations, practicing the BCH 6 Core Values: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Complete all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental files and further professional education.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree: Allied Health
  • MRI Certification

This is a per diem position, with regular hours varying. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
