Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating the Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner to acquire high-quality images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the MRI scanner to acquire images for use by physicians
  • Modify scan techniques for optimal scan acquisition
  • Consult with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as necessary
  • Float among radiology clinics associated with BWH as needed
  • Perform venipuncture and administer IV contrast agents
  • Maintain ACLS certification and perform daily quality assurance on MRI scanners
  • Control access into the MRI environment and maintain a safe MRI environment
  • Prepare and clean the equipment and scanner room for each patient
  • Stock and supply the room as needed
  • Operate control consoles and peripheral hardware and software
  • Enter patient data and monitor data acquisition during procedures
  • Transfer patient images to PACS and archive image data
  • Collaborate with Assistant Chief Technologist and Lead Technologists to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal utilization of MRI scanners
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of Medical Imaging
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent
  • Eligible for certification in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred
Working Conditions

Exposure to magnetic fields and radio frequencies. Exposure to human waste and other similar unpleasant elements. Periodic exposure to noise and cold equipment. Subject to frequent stressful situations.
