Job Details

The Residential Services Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas, restrooms, corridors of the property. This includes ensuring supplies and linen counts are adequate for Room Attendants and guaranteeing guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  1. Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  2. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Canoe Place standards
  3. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  4. Always comply with Canoe Place standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  5. Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and other team members
  6. Inspect public areas to ensure cleanliness standards have been met; report any problem areas to supervisor
  7. Assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens
  8. Deliver linens and necessary supplies to room attendants
  9. Clean designated areas such as lobby, public restrooms, public areas, and back of house areas
  10. Collect trash throughout the hotel including room attendants' carts, back of house areas, offices, and rest rooms
  11. Dispose of trash properly and promptly
  12. Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies in a timely and efficient manner
  13. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  14. Know and understand all services and amenities the hotel offers
  15. Report all maintenance problems or safety hazards
  16. Assist with minor maintenance problems
  17. Practice proper safety rules to ensure the safety and security of all guests and team members
  18. Have a working knowledge of the hotel's safety procedures and equipment as well as emergency plans
  19. Use chemicals and cleaning supplies according to directions only
  20. Knowledge of location of MSDS book and sheets
  21. Collect dirty laundry periodically throughout the day
  22. Stock Room Attendant carts to par
  23. Replenish stock in housekeeping closets
  24. Complete removal of trash and dirty linens from attendant carts
  25. Sweep and vacuum floors, hallways, and stairwells daily
  26. Perform heavy cleaning daily in high-use areas
  27. Spot clean walls, carpet, light fixtures, etc., as necessary
  28. Report any broken or need for repairs to management or Engineering
  29. Report any lost and found items to manager
  30. Maintain storage rooms in a clean and orderly manner
  31. Perform other duties as requested by management
  32. Attend meetings/training as required by management
