Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapist at Duke University Hospital, you will develop, improve, or restore skills in activities of daily living, work or productive activities, and play or leisure. You will work with patients to identify goals and develop a comprehensive plan of care, using therapeutic techniques and assistive technology to promote health and wellness.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and update patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  2. Select and administer appropriate assessment and treatment techniques.
  3. Perform age-appropriate competency skills in area of practice and with respect to individual patient's problems.
  4. Follow intervention protocols and revise interventions appropriately.
  5. Discharge patients when goals have been met or medical necessity is no longer indicated.
  6. Establish provisions for continuing services/follow up as needed.
  7. Meet competency skills for evaluations in area of practice.
  8. Consistently meet patient care productivity standards as established for job classification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required, with Master's degree preferred.
  • Current Occupational Therapy license in North Carolina.
  • Ability to push-pull, lift-carry, and transfer patients.
