Radiology Technologist Job Description

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Rutherford, New Jersey. This is a four-month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension or full-time offer.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist to work in a fast-paced medical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating medical imaging equipment, conducting quality control checks, and ensuring patient safety and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines, working collaboratively with the team.
  • Conduct quality control checks on medical imaging equipment and respond to any issues or failures.
  • Run calibration tests on imaging equipment and ensure it is functioning according to specifications.
  • Check and maintain safety equipment and utilize imaging software applications to obtain and verify patient data.
  • Ask patient history questions and document patient information.
  • Verify procedure support by diagnosis or order and check patient information prior to procedure.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, including what to expect during the process.
  • Set up equipment according to relevant parameters, orders, or procedures.
  • Utilize shielding for radiation protection of patients and technologists.
  • Maneuver and operate tables and equipment to proper positions.
  • Start and maintain IVs for patients requiring intravenous contrast media or isotopes.
  • Adjust imaging processes based on radiologists' expectations or procedure types.
  • Select technical factors to produce quality images while minimizing radiation to patients.
  • Make exposures following standard protocols.
  • Monitor patient safety and equipment functioning during imaging procedures.
  • Utilize protocols and equipment safety features to stop procedures when necessary.
  • Review image quality to determine if additional imaging is required.
  • Enter relevant image and process data into computer systems.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current ARRT certification in NJ.
  • Spanish-speaking individual preferred.
