Strategic Human Resources Director for Diverse Workforce

MAB Community Services, a leading non-profit human service organization, is seeking an experienced Strategic Human Resources Director to lead the development and implementation of HR strategies that support the organization's mission to provide training and support to adults with intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, blindness or visual impairment, and neurodivergent adolescents and young adults.

This critical role will oversee all aspects of human resources, including workforce development, talent acquisition, retention, and reward & recognition programs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, employee relations, progressive discipline, leave management, ADP Workforce Now and Time & Attendance, operations improvement, change management, training and career development, benefits plan design, onboarding, new employee orientation, compensation, compliance, performance management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.

The estimated salary for this position is around $130,000 per year, based on industry standards and the company's size. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, with an MBA or MA/MS in human resources or a related field preferred. A minimum of 10-15 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience, is required. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is also preferred.

The Strategic Human Resources Director will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive human resources strategy aligned with MAB's strategic goals and objectives;
  • Leading MAB's recruitment and talent acquisition initiatives;
  • Managing the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to support human resources operations and maximize efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Ensuring all HR functions are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices;
  • Overseeing performance management and progressive discipline;
  • Developing and implementing compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and cost-effective to attract and retain top talent;
  • Developing and maintaining positive employee relations by providing guidance and support to employees and managers;

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong supervisory and leadership skills, thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, and knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
