About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our team at Audible, a leading producer and provider of audio storytelling. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning techniques to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable machine learning models to detect and predict fraudulent activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into our systems
  • Develop and maintain large-scale data engineering pipelines to support machine learning model development
  • Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize fraud detection and prevention initiatives
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our Data Science team by sharing knowledge and expertise

Requirements

  • MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Applied Math, Operational Research, or a related quantitative field + 5 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in Python, SQL, or similar scripting languages and skilled at Java, C++, or other programming languages
  • Experience in algorithm development and machine learning pipeline orchestration with AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • Big Data Engineering with Spark/AWS EMR & Glue
  • Domain knowledge of comparable products (digital, retail)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals in machine learning, natural language processing, or speech processing
  • Proven track record of innovation in creating novel algorithms and advancing the state of the art
