Join Our Team as a Math Educator for After-School Programs
Sylvan Learning Center is seeking enthusiastic and committed educators to inspire and support students in their mathematical journey. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach mathematics to students in grades K-6, with a preference for those who can also instruct K-8 or higher levels, including Integrated Math and Algebra 1+.

Sylvan Learning is dedicated to creating personalized learning experiences tailored to students of varying abilities.

In this role, you will lead small groups of no more than three students, guiding them through engaging lessons and fostering a positive learning environment.

Enjoy the benefits of teaching without the typical challenges, as there are no lesson plans to develop, no homework to evaluate, and no parent meetings to attend. Our scheduling is designed to be flexible to accommodate your availability.

Key Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Teaching Credential is recommended.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students is essential.
  • Punctuality is crucial; candidates must reside locally and have reliable transportation.
  • Strong understanding of K-6 mathematics is necessary, with a preference for knowledge in Algebra or Integrated Math 1 (or higher).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What to Expect:

  • Utilize pre-designed lesson plans that are straightforward and enjoyable to deliver.
  • Instruct students in a small group format, ensuring personalized attention.
  • Most educators choose to work between 2 to 5 days a week.
  • Instruction is available on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
